Key Takeaways
- Evergreen has completed its first Benelux transaction through Lyra Technology Group’s acquisition of Lantack.
- Lantack will retain its name and existing management, including the founder and CEO.
- Rising fiber, mobile-data, and machine-to-machine usage gives Lyra Technology Group a sizable market for managed connectivity services.
Lyra Technology Group, owned by investor Evergreen, has acquired Dutch managed service provider Lantack, extending Evergreen’s acquisition strategy into the Benelux region for the first time. According to Telecompaper, Lantack will continue operating under its existing name and management structure, with the founder and CEO remaining in charge.
That continuity matters. Managed service relationships tend to depend heavily on local knowledge, technical consistency, and trust between customers and account teams. Keeping Lantack’s identity and leadership in place can reduce disruption while giving Lyra Technology Group a base from which to pursue further growth in the Netherlands.
This approach also suggests that Evergreen is utilizing a federated operational model rather than immediately folding Lantack into a single centralized brand. Acquired businesses preserve much of their operational identity while gaining access to a larger group’s capital, expertise, and cross-selling opportunities. The core challenge involves calibrating integration to create useful scale without weakening the local relationships that made Lantack attractive.
The Dutch connectivity market provides a substantial backdrop for that strategy. The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets, known as ACM, reported 8.72 million fiber connections and 3.41 million fiber subscriptions by Q3 2025. Dutch mobile networks supported 25.9 million mobile connections in the same quarter. KPN and Odido each accounted for 25% to 30% of mobile subscribers, while VodafoneZiggo held between 20% and 25%.
Usage is climbing too. Dutch mobile-data consumption reached 829 million GB in Q4 2025, while annual consumption rose from 1.6 billion GB in 2022 to almost 3 billion GB in 2025. More traffic does not automatically translate into revenue for managed service providers, but it tends to increase the operational burden on organizations that need reliable networks, communications systems, and technical support.
Machine-to-machine connectivity adds another opening. The Netherlands had 19.6 million machine-to-machine SIM cards in Q3 2025, an increase of roughly 400,000 in a single quarter. Those connections underpin industrial systems, logistics fleets, building controls, and other connected operations. Each use case brings monitoring, lifecycle management, and support requirements that organizations may prefer to outsource.
Buying a local managed service provider is only the first step. Lyra Technology Group will need to demonstrate that group ownership can improve Lantack’s capabilities while maintaining swift service delivery. Standards such as ISO/IEC 20000-1:2018 can provide a useful reference for service-management controls, although the acquisition announcement does not state whether Lantack holds that certification.
Cross-border growth also brings regulatory considerations. The Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications highlighted continued market and regulatory change across European electronic communications in its 2025 review. Lyra Technology Group’s expansion will therefore sit within a landscape shaped by national supervision, the EU Electronic Communications Code, and evolving expectations around network resilience, data handling, and customer rights.
For Lantack, the near-term message is stability. The brand name stays, and current management continues running the business. For Evergreen and Lyra Technology Group, the transaction creates a foothold in a highly connected market where fiber deployment, mobile usage, and connected-device growth are expanding the workload that managed service providers can address. While future growth may stem from targeted investment and broader geographic reach, long-term customer retention will rely on preserving the local service experience intact.
