The acquisition was completed in February 2026, according to an account published by ATU iHubs. Financial terms were not disclosed. VT Electron had previously raised more than $5 million. Its investors included BVP alongside executives from Realex Payments, Fire, and Suretank. VT Electron was valued at €14 million in 2023, providing a relatively recent reference point, though not necessarily an indication of the final purchase price.

Competition is broad rather than tidy. Siemens and Schneider Electric offer industrial automation, grid software and digital energy management capabilities, while numerous specialist vendors target sensors, analytics and utility communications. Analog Devices can use VT Electron to connect semiconductor expertise with a more complete monitoring proposition.
For Ireland's technology sector, the transaction also illustrates a familiar but important route to scale. VT Electron combined local engineering, outside investment and international deployment before joining a larger multinational. For Analog Devices, the value lies in gaining proven technology and an installed base in a grid-digitalization market where real operational data matters.
